Scripps Sports Network is bringing the YouTube phenomenon The Makeshift Project to free streaming television with Total Replay with the Makeshift Project, a new original series premiering October 21st.

Hosted by longtime friends Zach Misischia and Brian Conforth, the 10-episode series will revisit memorable figures, defining moments and obscure details from sports history through rankings, trivia challenges, interactive games and competitive debate. Each episode will focus on a specific sport, with guests drawn from entertainment, sports media and digital content creation.

The first-season lineup includes actor and comedian Kevin Heffernan, filmmaker and writer Jay Chandrasekhar, creator John Franklin, Olympic heptathlete Chari Hawkins, sports media personality and podcast host Kazeem “Kaz” Famuyide, broadcaster Robin Lundberg and sports content creator Megan Eugenio.

The series will premiere Wednesday, October 21st at 8 p.m. ET on Scripps Sports Network, with the first two episodes airing back-to-back. The network will broadcast 30-minute versions, while extended, hourlong editions will be available the following day on the Scripps Sports YouTube channel.

Misischia and Conforth have built an audience of more than 6.5 million around The Makeshift Project, which spans YouTube and podcast content featuring informal conversations, pop culture, sports trivia and guessing games. The television adaptation will carry that format into a more structured, guest-driven series centered on sports nostalgia and fan culture.

“Zach and Brian have built a devoted following by bringing an infectious energy, deep sports knowledge and unmistakable sense of fun to every conversation,” said Adam Harman, senior vice president of programming for Scripps. “This new series will tap into the passion that makes sports fandom so special, and we’re thrilled to add this fresh and distinctive series to Scripps Sports Network’s growing lineup of original programming.”

Total Replay is the latest addition to the network’s expanding slate of originals. On September 15th, Scripps Sports Network debuted The Originals, hosted by veteran sports broadcaster Suzy Kolber, and Beyond the Curve, hosted by Olympic champion Sanya Richards-Ross. The former features conversations with prominent sports figures about the experiences and decisions that shaped their careers, while the latter explores reinvention and life beyond athletic competition.

Scripps launched Scripps Sports Network on March 24th as a free, ad-supported streaming television channel featuring live sports, event replays, documentaries, original series and other sports programming. Its initial slate included coverage tied to the Women’s National Basketball Association, National Women’s Soccer League, Professional Women’s Hockey League and other sports properties, reflecting the company’s broader investment in accessible streaming sports and women’s athletics.

The network is available across a range of streaming services, including The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Prime Video, Google TV Freeplay, Xumo Play, Plex and other platforms.

For Scripps, Total Replay also represents a move to extend an established digital creator brand into a traditional television programming environment. The format offers the network a personality-driven alternative to live-game coverage and conventional sports analysis, while giving Misischia and Conforth an additional platform for their audience.

The series premieres October 21st, with new episodes scheduled for Wednesday nights.
