Synopsis: Brilliant but brusque surgeon Dr. Martin Best (Josh Charles) leaves his career in Boston to become the general practitioner in Port Wenn, a small fishing village in Maine where he spent summers as a child. Martin quickly alienates the quirky locals with his blunt bedside manner, while hiding a debilitating fear of blood that contributed to his departure from Boston.
