The USO is proud to announce chef, author and television host Carla Hall as its newest USO Global Ambassador. Hall will bring her culinary background to create opportunities for connection and help strengthen the well-being of America’s military service members and their families.
“I have had the honor of supporting the USO for more than a decade, and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to continue giving back to our military community,” said Hall. “Cooking has a special way of bringing people together, and I am excited to help service members and their families find connection through shared experiences.”
Hall has shared her enthusiasm and culinary talent on USO tours and at events since 2014, including co hosting the 2023 USO Salute to Military Chefs event, which honored top culinary professionals in the military. She has also led cooking workshops for service members in Washington, D.C., Colorado, Spain and Italy, and virtual baking lessons during USO Cookie Week.
“We are delighted to welcome Carla Hall as our newest USO Global Ambassador,” said USO CEO Courtney L. Billington. “Carla’s belief in the power of connection reflects a shared mission with the USO. Through her longstanding support of service members and their families on USO tours, she has seen firsthand how meaningful moments can make a lasting impact. As a Global Ambassador, Carla will help us bring those moments to even more members of the military community.”
As a trained chef, Hall has worked in professional kitchens in the Washington D.C. area. She competed on Bravo’s Top Chef and Top Chef: All Stars, co-hosted ABC’s lifestyle series The Chew for seven years, and has appeared on numerous Food Network programs including Halloween Baking Championship, Holiday Baking Championship and Best Baker in America. She is also an author of cookbooks and children’s books and is the publisher of Sweet Heritage magazine.
With the philosophy of always cooking with love, Hall believes that food connects us all and hopes to convey this in her partnership with the USO through culinary activations, event participation, center visits and more.
